Lilypie - Personal pictureLilypie Waiting to Adopt tickers
It's official, CCAA matched TWO whole days *sarcastic applause*. While this is the most excellent and happiest of news for those seeing their babies faces for the first time and kids finding their forever families, it royally sucks for the rest of us, lol. I know what you are thinking...ummm..isnt that four days, you goof...well yeah, but the 4th and 5th are the weekend and I am not sure there were people logged in on those days...I am not really in the habit of being a whiny brat, but given the current state of waiting, I hope I am cut some slack! :o) Anyway, it's four days off the calendar!
I was excited when they started referring our month, I guess I just expected them to be a little further into it by now....Now with March 7th 2006 standing in front of us like a brick wall...totally prepared that CCAA does only that day, anything more would be a total gift...
Thanks Leigh, for putting it all into perspective and what the end result of all this ugly waiting will be. I really appreciate it. I am down off the wall for the moment and looking forward to baby shopping this weekend!

I love your call for 'sarcastic applause.'

I'm so sorry that this wait drags on for you guys. Sometimes it is hard to know what to say, so I hesitate. I think you must tired of hearing it all: 'hang in there' or 'it's all for a reason' or you can fill in the blanks.

Anyway, I hope it helps to know that you are kept in my thoughts. I wish I could help with your quilt. Can't though. I am a crazy quilter, more hodge-podgy than normal quilting. Take care, girl.

Chrisser is right, all those well meaning comments get old after..... uh.....well... after as long as you have been waiting. yikes. I'm glad you are going to d a little retail therapy this weekend. I found it really did help. Besides, you have a really long list of things you can start to accumulate, like Avena Baby wash, (most of our girls have eczema)Aveno skin creme, (or Aquafor but that's really expensive)diapers, (I would go for size 3 16-28 pounds)you know, stuff like that. You'll want stacking cups to take to China, maybe an inflatable ball (easy packing), one or two board books----oh wait! Aren't you supposed to have a shower? Maybe you want to wait till after???? Nah. Go for it. You'll use it all anyway. ;-)
Have fun girl. It really helps with the wait to see the stuff accumulate.

I hope I am not coming off as a whiny, biotch!! lol.

I do know that China owes me NOTHING, it's just that I want to be a mom more than ANYTHING!

Chrisser,
It always helps to know others are thinking of you..for those who have been there, done that, well I can appreciate where you guys have been too.

Leigh,

you know, I just might have to take you with me, lol. How and the heck am I going to remember all that I need to take!

Retail therapy this weekend will include stroller and highchair shopping. Of course that will ultimately lead to baby clothes shopping,
YEE HAW!! :o)

First of all, you are certainly not coming across as whiney and complaining. Absolutely not. You have been waiting THREE YEARS. Complain away sistah, you've paid your dues plus some.
Have fun stroller and high chair shopping! Shopping for baby stuff is soooooo much fun. Don't forget to get her a cool pair of sunglasses if you spot any. Then she can compete with Dallas and Sonia. ;-) And you MUST post a pic of the goods you get.
Hang in there Jenny

Jenny,

I am not even paper ready, not even in the wait and I have bought clothes for this kid. Tomorrow I will post them somewhere, probably on the boards and show you just how crazy I am. FYI, I am not a big shopper. At all. But something has me wanting to do a little retail therapy for this kid. You enjoy every minute of preparation. No matter what it takes to get you through the wait, just do what you gotta do.
