Err, ok, we got tooth...Mia has been drooling and gnawing on things like mad crazed beaver. I was feeling her gums last night and I felt the first bottom tooth beginning to push its way thru her gum. Go Mia!! Her legs are getting stronger too, she is able to lock them up better to stand. When we got her referral, we were told she was able to crawl, lol. Uh, yeah right...
Oh, the prunes and oatmeal worked!! Wheee!!! I felt so badly for her, I know it took a great effort for her to get that out...
Hey, should I change the title to my blog? I mean "A Far Away Child" doesn't really apply anymore, but I am kinda attached to it...What do you guys think?

Yay for teeth! You could change it to "A Far Away Child (who is FINALLY home), a Journey to Mia".
Well, since she came from far away, the title still fits as far as I am concerned, but you are the one who survived that wait so if you want to make a clean start, that's your choice, kwim????
I'll still come and read.
Leigh :-)
How about "A Faraway Child No Longer" or "A Faraway Child at Home"?
Yay for teeth. Was it painful for her? Roma seemed to break her teeth in very easily with no fuss. She may have had a low fever when they were popping though, but that's it.
Did you buy some pears to offer her once in a while so she doesn't get stopped up again? Plus, they're yummy.
QJ,
Mia was running low fevers too, she pulled at her ears alot and gummed everything in sight, lol.
I was thinking "A Far Away Child Comes Home"
Sonia came to us with 16 teeth already in place. Oh yeah, and she was walking, talking and kicking my ass from day 1. And I love every second of it too. ;-)
And I second the idea of pears. Think of them as preventative medicine. har de har har.

wow teeth. She is really on the move. She is making so much progress.I am sure that with all the supprot with you nad your husband sje will continue to make great strides. Keep up the good work and as far as changing your title I feel that you should keep the title it fits.
God Bless you and your family
Jess
OK, so now she will teeth until she is approximate 2 2-1/2 Enjoy.
I wouldn't sweat the crawling, I just don't think they get a lot of floor time. My girl was a walker girl. She had to take a step back and crawl.....................

This is the first chance I've had to place a comment on your blog. Let me start by saying that I think 'A Faraway Child Comes Home' is great - it really suits it. The pictures you've posted are absolutely precious. Amber and I were looking at them the other day with Ryley. She said that the one of Mia sleeping against the pillows reminded her of an angel laying on clouds - out of the mouths of babes! I told her that she was. Amber and I explained to her how you adopted Mia and how long it took. Ryley thinks you must be a very patient mommy - hope so, you'll need it by age 16. And yes, pears are great for future back up problems you might have. If she really likes to chew with her teething you might try getting some little bagels and freezing them. They're small enough for Mia to hold and they stay frozen for awhile. I imagine now that she's home she will be growing and changing by leaps and bounds. With the love and support that she gets from you and Rich she'll have no choice. I picture the 2 of you doing almost nothing all day but watching her. It's great. You better bring her in before she changes too much. I can't wait to meet her in person - those cheeks are just waiting to be kissed. Amber wanted me to tell you congrats. She's very happy for you - she can't wait to 'tat' you... Take Care - give Mia hugs and kisses from us all (even though I'm not prone to hugging as you well know for her I will gladly make an exception). By the way - your blog is great to read - you should put your experience into a book - it would be a best seller ! Hope to see you soon - take care - love ya dj
I like the idea of A Far Away Child No Longer. But, hey that is for you to decide, isn't it?
Go Mia on the tooth!! Teething isn't the easiest thing to watch them go through, but it is just one of those stages they all go through.
